Veterans Supporting Veteran Falls
Having veterans involved in this project is especially rewarding.  Veteran Falls is  blessed to have the participation and support of  Lt. Col. (Retired) Brian Birdwell, Col. (Retired) Jackie Vaughn, Sr. and Master Sergeant (Retired) Con Shuck.  These honored veterans spoke at a VIP Event for the Veteran Falls Memorial on September 10th.  Each of them expressed how important the memorial is to our veterans, and how grateful they are that we are building this memorial, honoring our veterans and active service personnel.  Their stories tell of a time when veterans were not shown any gratitude for their service and they speak of how important it is that we do not let that ever happen again.  We are truly blessed to be a part of this project and to be associated with the people who are involved.

We hosted an event on Tuesday, September 10th, at Granbury Live and Celebration Hall, to commemorate Veteran's Day.  In attendance were our sponsors, local dignitaries and business owners, but our most important guests were our Veteans.  We had a great representation of Veterans, from all branches of the military and in all age groups.  It was wonderful to be able to bring them all together and honor them for their service.

Robert started the program off by presenting a stone, with the names, ranks and branch of service to three honored veterans.  The stone was later placed in Veteran Falls.  The three Veterans, Lt. Col. (ret.) Brian Birdwell, Col. (ret.) Jackie Vaughn and Master Sgt. (ret.) Con Shuck each spoke about their service and what the Veteran Falls Memorial means to them.

We kicked the evening off with a "Meet and Greet" in Celebration Hall, on historic Granbury Square.  It was a festive evening, with some really good food provided by Stringfellows, China Cafe and Willie & Dicks.  It was a great start to a wonderful evening,
Once the guests move into the Granbury Live Theater, Robert has a chance to personally thank America's veterans for their service, and tell them what building Veteran Falls means to him.
Lt. Col. (ret.) Brian Birdwell talks about his service and the kind of person it takes to stand up and take the oath to protect our country.
Himprovable, led by Dr. Jonathan Heizer, performed an improv comedy act.  Even Stevie Wonder got in on the act, thanks to the talent of Sean Mitchell.
